I HAVE A 2000 CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE
WITH 109,500 MILES
ITS THE OL 4.6 LITRE NORTHSTAR ENGINE

I RAN IT THROUGH SOME HIGH WATER ON RAINY DAY

WHEN EVER I START THE ENGINE IT RUMBLES AND RATTLES VERY HEAVILY
THE WHOLE ENGINE SHAKES AND THEN THE GAUGES READ"OIL PRESSURE LOW" stop engine!
THEN THE CAR CUTS OFF
SO I DRAINED THE OIL AND RUSTY CHOCOLATE MILK SORT OF OIL CAME OUT.
I REPLACED IT WITH NEW OIL, HOPING FOR THE CAR TO CRANK NORMALLY BUT IT DID NOT
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

MANY MECH. SAY REBUILD THE ENIGNE BECAUSE THE CRANK SHAFT OR BEARINGS OF SOME SORT are DAMAGED.

WHEN I DID START IT AFTER I PLUNGED THROUGH 2 FEET OF WATER. THE CAR RAN FOR ABOUT 205 FEET UNTILL IT STARTED STALLING
SO WHEN I STARTED IT AFTER THAT AND GAVE IT GAS. WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT THE TAIL PIPE.N I MEAN ALOT!

so WHAT CAN I POSSIBLE DO?

NEW ENGINE?
REBUILD IT?/
THE ENGINE STILL CRANKS IT, IS THERE ANY HOPE?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT
WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY DO NOW?

THERES THERE ANY WAY I CAN MAKE IT RUN? AGAIN?

If you havent found an answer to your question. What I can tell you about the engine is that it may have become hydro-locked and in that case what has happened is as the engine is rotating it draws in fresh air but if water is ingested into the air intake then water is not compressable and since the engine is designed for air only water will stop the internal engine parts from rotating properly. Well it will do this rather abruply, chances are the major damage that has occured is you have bent connecting rods and can and will be very expensive to repair 2000.00 and up, you may look into having a good used engine installed into your car, rick
