What happens if you put diesel fuel in by accident and what can I do?

If you didn't put a lot in the tank, then your engine will run bad until it burns out. (Check engine light will come on) Also, you may ruin your O2 sensors and catalytic converter.

You should have your fuel system flushed immediately.
