My low beam headlights quit working. I think I need to replace the connector because they were burned. Do you have to purchase this part at the Cadillac dealer and does $40.00 sound correct for the price?

If you have the headlamps apart, and have verified they are burnt, then yes you need connectors, I believe bulbs as well. I do think that these harness connectors are dealer items only. The dealer is going to get them directly(via GM) from the manufacturer, and no one else may have a need or use for them specifically. The price does sound accurate.
