I need the brake pads changed - front and back - do I need to use the ultra ones or can I use the mid-range pads and would it be better to change the roters if they are at all in need of change or should I just have them ground down. Will the type of brake pads I get affect the callipers?

I would recommend something that matches O.E. grade. The pads won't affect the calipers, but you can be prone to brake noise. If the rotors have serviceable material on them, resurfacing should be adequate.
