2006 Cadillac CTS GEARS DO NOT SHIFT

Sometime when I step on the gas, I hear a grinding sound from the transmission, the RPM goes up and the gears do not shift and it seems like you are driving a standard with your foot on the clutch. When I let go the gas pedal and step on it slowly, it seems to go well.

I would suspect an internal trans problem, a sample of the fluid might confirm that. You will need to have it diagnosed, or the pan removed to check for debris. You more than likely have a check engine light on with codes that may relate.
