2003 Cadillac CTS Won't shift out of park..HELP!

2003 Cadillac CTS 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 107,00 miles

My CTS is parked in a parking lot because it won't shift out of P. The car turns on and everything seems to be running fine, but when I push in on the gearshift to unlock it and pull into D it only locks up and I hear clicking behind the stearing wheel.

Sounds like a shift interlock control system problem could be a brake switch or the shiftlock control solenoid
