Can having your thermosta replace cause the oil value cover gasket to go bad and began to leak?

I have a situtation where I had my thermosta replaced on a 2003 CTS Cadillac the other day oil began pouring out of my engine onto the manfold.

The car was taken back to the dealership they denied doing anything to cause the problem and told me I needed valve cover gasket. I explained that six months ago valve cover gasket, oxygen sensor, throttle body gasket, intake manifold gasket, pienum gasket, camshaft cover seal, valve cover bolt, intake manifold bolt were replaced with all new GM parts.

Can this just break down again or did the people who replaced the thermosta do something to cause the problem?

I havent heard of a thermostat replacement causing a valve cover gasket to leak. Possibly the blame lies in the gasket replacement the first time around.

Yes, if the work was not done correctly it can cause this issue.
