1998 Cadillac CTS 6 cyl 120110 miles

i smell gas when i drive the car i was told by a friend not to drive until its fixed as the car could catch on fire is it worth repairing what could be wrong with it

where does it smell like gas? i woudlnt worry about it catching on fire.
