Hi,
I'm having weird start up issue. I've cleaned grounds, removed, checked, and cleaned fuses and relays, both in trunk, behind seat back and eng. Compartment. I'v removed and cleaned ground attached to eng. Fuse board. Loosened and reset the ECM wiring harnesses.
The problem is, the moment I insert key and attempt to start the engine, the security alarm system is enabled with the lights flashing and the horn blowing. The cranks and engine starts fine.
I'm approaching my wits end! Any sage advice would be most appreciated

Those cars use 2 theft deterents. The "pass key" which disables the car, and the "UTD"(Universal theft deterent), which is the lights and horns like you are having a problem with. The UTD uses the door lock cylinders, trunk and hood pin switches the BCM and several other things it monitors to see if there is unauthorized access to the car. Your best bet will be to have the car put on a scan tool capable of communicating with the BCM (Body Control Module) to monitor the operation of all of the monitored items to see where the failure is that is setting it off

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Would any codes pulled by me be apart of what is going on here? If so, any codes that you know may be indicative of this problem. Is this a Caddy dealer isue for the codes?

Thanks for any followup.

Ken
