i need to know how to remove the headrest on a 1997 cadillac deville concours help please

Here is the procedure from the 97 service manual.
1: Position head restraint to full up position.
2:Push head restraint back down approximately one quarter of an inch.
3:Insert lock release tool at front side of head restraint post.
4:push tool downward to release retainer from post detent.
5:Gently pull upward on head restraint and remove from seatback.

It does not say that the lock release tool is a special tool, nor does it show any illustrations.
