hard to shift into reverse, drive. will not shift into 3,2,1, speed categories.
I pull shifting arm towards me and then down to desired drive, but is very stiff.

You need to inspect the transaxle shift lever,shift linkage rod,gear selector lever for misalignment causing it to bind.
