2001 Cadillac Catera oil pressure

when i am driving the oil pressure seems to be normal (30-40lbs.) depending on the rpm, but SOMETIMES when i am at an idle the oil pressure drops down to around 10 lbs or below. the oil in it has only about 1500 miles on it and is clean no coolant or anything else that would thin it out seems to be in it so what do you think?

as long as its 10 psi per 1000 rpms your good to go

try a thinner oil? guage could be bad, try using a thread in guage and check the pressure that way.

what oil you ahve in it? whats the temp? pressure increase when engines hot or cold?
