I have a 2000 Cadillac Catera

My first issue was that I had a P0171 and P0174 error codes. Which
Cadillac stated was my Catalytic Converters. They replaced those
which were still under warranty along with the fuel filter which cost
me about 70.00. Then after replacing the Converters my Check Engine
light came back on and when initially starting the Car it was chugging
like it was gasping for breath or fuel. So I take it back to Cadillac
and he says the code is now a P0300 which he said has nothing to do with the Catalytic converters. He says it is misfiring do to clogged fuel injectors. So I had them run fuel injector cleaners through them twice at $120.00 per shot and also they replaced the plugs and spark plug wires. And he said if that doesn't work then they would have to
take the engine apart and manually clean the the heads at $2400.00.
The car is running better at least it is not chugging. But the CEL
came back on and when I just turn the key to Accessories it has this
winding sound just for about 30 seconds. I took it back to Cadillac and he says it is still reading the same P0300 code. I noticed when I put it in Park sometimes the engine will rev up to 2000rpms if I put on the brake it comes back down. Is it possible the Mass Airflow Sensor is Bad or maybe a bad Ignition coil could be causing it to misfire?

Can someone help me with this Lemon of a car I bought. I can't
believe Cadillac put their name on this car and won't do anything to
help me.

What to check next

Diagnostic guidance. Suggested checks and possible repairs are separate from the owner's reported results.

Obtain current codes and diagnostic findings for the misfire and high idle before authorizing further cleaning or engine disassembly. Ask what measurements justify each proposed repair.

Discussion summary

2000 Cadillac Catera is a Lemon

A 2000 Cadillac Catera had reported lean codes followed by a recurring random-misfire code after converter replacement, injector cleaning and ignition service. Running improved, but the warning returned and intermittent high idle was also described.

Reported outcome: The owner reported partial running improvement, but the warning and unresolved symptoms remained.

The replies did not diagnose the airflow sensor, coil or injectors. Reported dealer costs and warranty work are historical owner accounts, not general estimates.
