2000 Cadillac Catera Front Wheel Drive 47000 miles

I had my gas tank dumped several years a go because of bad gas. Since then I have a problem with my gas cap coming off and turning my check engine light on.

I suggest that you just purchase one, which is relatively inexpensive, from Wal-Mart . they have universal fit fram caps.
