1996 Cadillac Brougham check engine light and pass key faul

The car is running fine, but when I turn the ignition the pass key fault light comes on (and then goes off) and the check engine light stays on. Any ideas?

It would need some further diagnosis. I doubt the two are related. The pass key fault, most often ends up being some broken wires at the ignition cylinder that provide the key resistance value to the pass key module. That don't bring a check engine light though.
