WHY WON'T MY CLIMATE CONTROL GO TO AUTO? IT WILL GO TO ECONO, BUT WHEN I CLICK AUTO IT GOES BACK TO ECONO.

That's because the computer has shut it down for some reason, probably because the refrigerant leaked out. You'll have to put a set of gauges on it to determine if it has sufficient refrigerant to start the compressor. You can clear the computer by disconnecting the battery but don't keep doing that or you'll do damage to the compressor.
