Engine Mechanical problem
1987 Cadillac Brougham V8 Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
When my engine starts up the engine dies, i have to accelerate quickly for it not to die out. Then whenever i start to slow down or come to a complete stop, it dies out. And also if i come to a complete stop and it doesn't stop, it shakes really bad. Can u help me with this problem?

Hi:
This could be caused by many things. It could be a sensor, large vacuum leak... Is there black smoke coming out the exhaust? What I would like you to do is take the car to a nationally recognized auto parts store. Have them scan the computer for codes. If they find any, it will direct us where the problem lies. Also, regardless of the lcheck engine light being on or off, the computer may have codes stored.

Let me know what you find.
