Buying a used honda hybrid with 200,000

Im wondering if this would be a good idea im looking for a car but never had a hybrid. If the interal battery goes out can the car just on gas?

yes it can go on gas but why would you buy a car that cannot run the way it' s intended.

I'm not sure how that one works really. if it uses electric to take off then switches to gas which a lot of them do then no if the battery was bad then it wouldn't do that.
