My car started leaking coolant and it was giving off a smell inside the car throught the vents. There is a small rubber elbow that came from under the car that has no hose attached to it anymore and all of the water from the reserve tank is pouring from that elbow. What is this elbow and does anything connect to it? We have a Haynes Manual and we cant find anything in there that tells us what this is or how to fix it! All your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi there,

It sounds like your heater core is leaking and filling up the heater box, the tube you describe sounds like the A/C drain tube, this allows excess moisture from the A/C (the air is dehumidified when A/C is used) to drain away. Get a pressure test done to check the condition of the heater core.
