Often the idiot lights do not come on when the ignition is turned on, the engine will crank but not start. After 4 or 5 tries the idiot lights do come on, the engine cranks and starts. It happens every day and seems not to be affected by temp.

You may have to check the feed to and from the ignition switch? You may have to check ground circuits also. Are the battery cables/wires clean and tight on both ends?
