Engine has trouble starting, very poor gas mileage and hesitates. I have replaced plugs, coils, connectors, both oxygen sensors, MAP sensor, IAC module, air filter and cleaned injectors and throttle body with an over the counter throttle body cleaner. Still the problem presists. The code that it produces says multiple misfires.

massijc,

My 1997 Buick Skylark w/ 188000 sounds like is has the same problems and "multiple misfires" code. I also replaced a number of part before finding a hose that came unplugged.

I think the hose is part of the vacuum system. The hose is badly cracked and showing its age which is probably why it fell off.

It's about 1/2 inch in diameter. It is located in the front of the engine about a foot to the right of the throttle cable connection.

Hope this helps. I will replay again with a picture tonight.
