I have a 1997 buick skylark that has sat up for two years and i try to start it today it has a new battery in it and it will start and then cut off (it does not have new gas) ever time i try to start it will run and then just cut off

Check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to rule out the fuel filter and fuel pump if okay clean out the idle air contol valve and see what happens
