i was wondering, I am having heater core issues with my car and I need to drive it about 80 miles to the repair shop, will it be safe to drive?

Yes it will be fine to drive to a repair shop. No further damage will occur during the drive as long as it is not leaking coolant extremely fast. Ensure coolant level is good before driving to the shop.
