Reverse inop, check engine light has come on and has been stalling which seems to be the torque converter lock solenoid malfunctioning again. Could te reverse problem be related to this or electrical?

No reverse is the planetaries are not functioning. When you apply first or reverse, they use the same clutch packs, but the planetaries or 2nd apply band is applied forcing the guts to reverse to go backwards. This is an internal issue and needs to be torn down for repairs. Sorry.
