how do you replace the water pump on a 1984 Buick Skylark?

your answer was very vague in that "remove belts" is easier said than done. three pretty experienced back yard mechanics worked for hours to remove the belt on the poiwer steering pump. generally a question on mechanics would suggest a need for more detail on "how to". I do certainly appreciate your reply.

sorry but your question was simple so i figured you just needed the basics on it..

so the PS belt is what you are hung up on? to remove it, loosen the PS pump's pivot and mounting bolts. Then move the pump toward the engine until enough slack is created to remove the belt from the pulley.
