When I step on the gas from a complete stop the car bogs and sometimes dies. It will start back up with no problems. I have been told it could be a bad float in my carb or a vacuum leak. Any help would be great.

i doubt its a vacuum leak but take a can of choke cleaner and spray around th eintake and carb base to see ifyou do or not. the engine will change rpm if it is or not. the alcohol in todays fuel has probably edestroyed your float and you will probabl y need a rebuild kit or get a rebuilt one they should have been all updated by now.....change your fuel filter as well....
