1976 Buick Skylark 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 71.745 miles

i recently changed my water pump after it stalled on me and jerked.....it also made a like cap gun sound one time also but after i drive it for 3 mins it drives normally , can it be something else?

check for a cracked distributor cap or arcing inside of it. You will see like pencil marks inside the cap if it is arcing. Same thing on the outside especially around where the coil plugs in.
