Electrical problem
1963 Buick Skylark

it stopped working so I checked to see if it is getting
power to the pump motor & it is. Is there some kind
of breaker, fuse or fuseline after the wires go into the
motor unit? The only other thing different is that it is
colder out(below 30')& I don't know if that has any-
thing to do with it.I never had a convertible before.
thanx, Don

If you are getting power to the motor then the motor is probably bad. You can have someone activate teh motor and you tap it with a small hammer and see if it starts to work. Otherwise you'll have to take it to a shop like a starter/generator repair and they can check it for you.

Hi, yes that's exactly what I did do. It worked 4 maybe
1-3sec. When I tore it apart there was a broken wire
on 1 of brushes, I guess a seal must have gone bad
also because it was all wet inside motor. Thanx, Don

If the brush wire is broken then take it to a starter generator rebuilder he can get the motor working again. You may have a field coil or armature bad as well as bushings. I'm sure you will be able to find the seals to fix the leak as well on the pump.
