1996 Buick Roadmaster no boost

While making full left turn with steering full left, the steering seemed to freeze. To recover straight ahead steering required great pressure on steering wheel. Any turn required similar effort.

It sounds like the the bushings in the Rack-N-Pinion may be going bad.
