Why is there a lot of water under the front carpeting, passenger side, of my 96 SC Riviera?

if your heater isn't leaking then the drain hose for the a/c is plugged. get a piece of coat hanger andgo under the car to find the hose hanging down and twirl the hanger inside it. YOu will get wet and make sure it is clean so it will drain...
