2006 Buick Rendezvous windshield wipers

Need to replace the wipers & there appears to be a snap on/off lever when the wiper is raised away from the glass. Can move this piece of metal, but don't want to force the blade off. What's the trick?

The snap is to remove the wiper. It's located in the center of the blade where the arm attaches to the blade.
