2006 Buick Rendezvous Cruse Contol Problem

2006 BUICK RENDEZVOUS

In the past when the car hit a bump the cruse control would disengage. Sometimes it would not engage.Later it would work ok. Now the cruse cintrol will not engage regardless of the speed.

Two things we need to know, engine size?
And can you get it scanned for codes? Autozone does it free write down codes and post with engine size, there are two different systems depending on engine.

engine 3.5

no code appear in on board computer check

Cruse control no longer engages regardless of speed.

Check to see if the brake lights work, and if the transmission range switch, or old term neutral saftey switch, how good are you with testing automotive circuits? Have a test light and DVOM?

Brake lites work ok. I have an electronics background. Trans column switch seems ok.
What should I check. Is there a speed sensor and where.
