My transmission went out and needs to be replaced. The warranty company is denying my claim. The cause of the problem was supposedly a TCC solonoid that caused the trans to fail and some of the parts I was tols actually melted. The warranty compnay denied my claim because they say the cause was electrical and not an internally lubricated part. Can this TCC solonid do that type of damage?

It is possible. It depends on how and when the solenoid failed.

Is there a way to identify how and when the solonoid failed?

It will have freeze frame data recorded in the computer from the first and second failure.
