2002 Buick Rendezvous cam

I have had trouble starting the car after it is turned off and go back a few minutes later to restart, yesterday the service soon light came on. took to an auto zone and he said i need a cam positioning sensor. the timing was off slightly. what exactly does that involve.

A faulty cam sensor will cause an extended crank time. If it is a no start condition, it's not the cam sensor causing the problem.
