Buick Regal Custom brake and transmission problems

I own a 1996 buick regal custom 3.8 with 180000 miles on it. The service engine light came on.I had it scanned and the code p1870 came up. Wich mean controls tranmission. The auto part dealer said it was the sencor in the transmission but before I spend more money I need to know for sure. Also my brakes feel like the a sticking. When it sticks it will not role while sitting at a stop when you lift the foot off the brake and it feel like when you take off you r draging the car and it shakes when this is going on, but worse when I stop.I need to know whats going on so I can get my car fixed. Could be either your rear or front brakes are hanging up even though the brake pedal is fully released. The shaking problem sounds like your front rotors are not smooth anymore and need to be either turned or replaced, depending how much metal left on the rotor is too work with. While the rotor is removed have the pads either sanded with coarse sandpaper or install new pads. Does the car veir left or right when you stop or does it stop straight? Have you used your E-brake recently when it hasn't been used for awhile or do you use it regularly?
