2004 Buick Regal Idiot lights come on and car shuts off at

2004 Buick Regal Front Wheel Drive Automatic 59000 miles

while I'm sitting at a light, all the idiot lights come on and then a second later the car shuts down. I put the car in park and it starts back up.

The ignition switch had gone bad. Had it replaced and am now awaiting the next unusual thing to go wrong with my '04 Regal.

does the oil pressure light go on, or if u have an oil pressure gauge does it go low? if the answer is yes to either question i'd change out the oil pressure switch. i just found out that ur oil pressure goes low when that switch goes bad. when the oil pressure gets low it shuts off the FUEL PUMP. the switch only costs about $10. i have a 1988 reagl & mine is next to the oil filter

That is correct. A bad sending unit will cause the gauge or light to not work properly.
