2001 Buick Regal Ignition switch

Key will not go to lock position all the time. cannot get key out. If I wait for about 30 mins it will go to lock position and I can remove the key. What up with this?

could be dirty . try lubricating lock cylinder with WD-40. let me know if this helps..
