Removal Procedure
*Tools Required
*J38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
*J36660-A Torque Angle Meter
1.Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2.Reposition the accessory wiring junction block.
3.Loosen water pump pulley bolts.
4.Remove drive belt.
5.Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
6.Remove water pump pulley.
7.Remove power steering pump mounting bolts and reposition.
8.Remove the water pump bolts.
9.Remove water pump.
10.Remove the water pump gasket.
11.Clean and inspect the water pump mating surfaces.
Installation Procedure
1.Install the gasket and the water pump. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2.Install the bolts to the water pump using the J36660-A.
*Tighten the long water pump bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) plus 40 degrees.
*Tighten the short water pump bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) plus 80 degrees.
3.Install the water pump pulley. Loosely install the water pump pulley bolts.
4.Install the power steering pump with mounting bolts. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
5.Install the drive belt.
6.Tighten the water pump pulley bolts. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 13 Nm(15 inch lbs.)
7.Install the accessory wiring junction block.
8.Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System. Inspect for leaks
