First thing to do is get the codes read. All 96 and later cars have OBD2 (On Board Diagnostics 2nd generation).
That will give us a place to look.
If there are no codes it could be a dying fuel pump or clogged fuel filter. Have the fuel pressure checked.
First check the codes. Autozone does it for free as well as many other places.
