No matter what I do: putting coolant/water in the reservoir, or directly in the radiator, the engine can't stay cool. Within a few minutes of driving my car is always over heating and sometimes I even see smoke coming from under the hood. What could be the problem?

Note: I do sometimes see the coolant leaking out after I've stopped the car, but it doesn't come out right away so I don't understand why it still overheats.

if you see coolant beneath the car you have a leak. But you may have a stuck thermostat or you could have a bad radiator or inlet or head gasket problem. Best thing to do is to take it to a pro let him pressure check it and other things...
