1996 Buick Regal Hood

When trying to open hood the cable release works but when I pull on release under hood it will not release.
Any suggestions?

Possibly the wire cable is streched and got just a little longer and the release lever in your car under dash cant pull it all the way. You should change it or just on hood release on front mechanism of car pull the wire as far as it goes and use a small nut n bolt with 2 small washers and put the wire between washers and tighten good and should work for a while again, thats what I did on my car months ago and still opens. Well if its what I think it is on your car. Good luck
