Please help.
We have replaced 4 fuel pumps in car in the past year. We just replaced one a month ago, & gave the car to grandson, who just called and said the car was sputtering & he could smell gas. Would the oxygen sensor be part of the problem. He said he had driven it 50 miles, and it started acting sluggish, sputtering. Each time we replaced the fuel pump, after a certain time, it would start with a whiirring sound & would just run terrible.

i hope your going with the dealer recommended pump, top of the line.

more expensive but if it has the improper amount of comatator bars in it the pump will burn right back out.

hows the fuel pressure iwht a new pump, engine on and off. could be demanding too much from the pump.
