1993 Buick Regal idle problem-a real head scratcher!

I am having an issue with a 1993 Buick Regal 3.8L engine. Only on cold days (below 30) at first start-up it will continue to idle too high after an initial warm up period (a few minutes). This happens about once every 3 or 4 days. And if I "kick" the gas pedal it will idle even faster sometimes. I have to shut it down, and re-start and it will always idle fine. The TPS (throttle position sensor), the IAC (idle air control), and PCV valve have all been replaced. It has been scoped 2 times (no codes). No vacuum leaks have been found. The throttle body has been cleaned. I love the car (mint condition) with 108,000 miles. At first I was frustrated. Now I am MAD! Can anyone please help? THANKS in advance!

P.S. The TPS has only 5000 miles on it. I didn't notice a problem until it got cold this October (06). The TPS was replaced in February (but the car was stored and not driven until May). A mechanic on another web site mentioned the ohm setting on the TPS might not be correct. Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to this site so I hope I am replying to your question (about my question) the way I am supposed to. Yes, if the car has been started in the previous 7 or 8 hours on a cold day, I never have the problem. Also, the problem doesn't show up during warmer weather (when the night time temperature doesn't get below 30 at night here in Wisconsin). In other words, the car has to be stone cold before the problem shows up and then it only shows up about once or twice a week. THANKS AGAIN!
