I had it checked and the fuel pump and filter is good and all plugs and wires are good.
but the converter did smell like a rotten egg so could it be cloged up to make it not run? This car only has 48,000 miles every time you puch on gas it dies
it started out stalling and then dieing when driving now won't drive at all it gradually got worse.

Hi:
You need to see if there is pressure coming from the exhaust. If you want, rent the gauges to check back pressure from a nationally recognized parts store to check the converter. Also, listen for hissing, ratteling. From the exhaust. Or, disconnect the converter to see if it runs normally. If it does, replace the converter.

In addition, I want you to check for vacuum leaks. Also, have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
