fuel gauge

I have a 1998 Buick Park Ave. the fuel gauge on the dash goes past the peg and is stuck? I have manually rwest it but when I go and fill the tank the pointer gets stuck again? Any ideas

if your able to reset it and it stays and reads right I would suspect the gauge

I have the same problem with a 99 buick park ave. But i never reset it,How do you do Do that? My problem started when i unhooked the battery terminal and when i hooked it back up,my fuel gauge wouldn;t work
