engine revs high when put into park sometimes

My 1993 Buick Park Avenue, automatic transmission, is acting a little funny and I'm not sure why. When I stop the vehicle and put it into park sometimes it doesn't drop down to 1k rpms like it should but instead revs up to 2-3k rpms. The rpms then stay at 2-3k rpms until I shut the car off or put it into gear. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

oh, also, I thought maybe the peddle was sticking so I gassed it up in Park a few times. Once after a few presses it dropped down to 1k rpms but usually this doesn't work...

I took my 93 buick park avenue to the shop because the engine was revving when put into stop sometimes. Also the engine was at higher rpms than it should have been.

The problem was a tear in a line that regulates pressure. Ended up being a cheap 30$ fix.

Ran into another problem shortly. My car, when at a stop or moving very slowly would often get a horrible constant virbation. I took it to the shop again and the mechanics decided that I needed 2 new fans for the car. The cost would be 200$, labor included. I told them I'd get back to them about ordering the fans. I went home, popped the hood, noticed a piece of mud on the end of a blade on my main engine fan, cleaned it off, and its been running perfect since. Maybe this will save someone a little money.
p.s the mud got on my fan when I was driving during a torrential rain, it wasn't the mechanics.
