Steering problem
2000 Buick Park Avenue Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 2000 Buick Park Avenue, and recently have had a problem with the power steering. I drove it one night and it was fine, then the next morning my wife began to drive it to work and told me that she could barely turn the steering wheel. I drove it, and noticed the same thing.. it was really hard to steer left/right. I checked the power steering fluid and it was almost empty so I filled it back up full. The problem is still there, but I noticed some fluid (power steering) on the floor of the garage and think there might be a leak. Could a lack of fluid be enough to cause this problem? or do you think there might be a different problem that is making it so hard to steer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes lack of hydraulic fluid will cause stiff steering. Fill resivor run engine have helper turn wheel lock to lock see if you can find leak.
