After an oil change how do you reset the light.

usually with a scan tool. but if there is an oil light on and you put the correct amount of oil in it, there may be another problem ..like your oil sending switch may be bad. give it a couple of days. it may need to go through a relearn mode and reset itself. if that doesn't work take your negative cable off for about ten minutes. as long as you don't have one of those theft device things that you don't have to reset . because those can be problems. a regular alarm is ok. Also they sell a little plug that you hook a nine volt battery to and then plug it in your lighter so that you don't lose any important settings when you unplug the negative cable. you should be able to find one at radio shack or your local parts place
