1998 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My engine was overheating I put in a new thermostat. Now the coolant keeps boiling away and white smoke comes out of the exhaust have I warped the heads

Yes, if it didn't do this before, then it sounds like it got too hot and blew a head gasket.
They did have a problem with intake manifolds on these 3.8 engines that caused coolant to leak into the intake but that would have started earlier. It will be obvious when the intake is removed. The valley will be full of coolant if that were the case.
