1998 Buick Park Avenue Metal Rattle Sound From Under Hood

Hello,

I have a question regarding a rattle noise from under the hood. I looked through the pointers in the car sound problems for rattles and read about a rattle when AC is on, but I have the rattle when the AC is off. As soon as the AC kicks on the rattle goes away. Does this sound like the compressor clutch still?

Yes it sounds like the air gap or distance between the ac clutch and the pulley is is not great enough and the clutch is actually hitting the pulley when it is not supposed too.
